The two masterminds behind Darwin Motorcycles are Sam Wills and Dar Holdsworth. Below is a short bio on each:

Dar Holdsworth

Who is Dar Holdsworth? Dar is no one special. Just a guy with a dream and desire to build bikes.

Dar is a guy who’s life did not expose him to bike building early on. Dar spent his adolescent years in an orphanage. He was adopted during his teen years and joined the Air Force after high school. Shortly after returning from Desert Storm, Dar’s time in the military had expired and he was moving on to a career in printing and manufacturing displays for the retail industry.

Dar started, owns and operates a successful Visual business, Grand Central Inc., providing signage, displays and fixtures to the retail industry.

Dar loves, lives and breaths bikes.

Dar was a customer of Racing Innovations, collaborating on and helping build a few bikes with Sam Wills. While building a bike for his dad (who adopted him at age 16), Dar approached Sam (owner of Racing Innovations) with a business proposal to design and build bikes together, “To offer the above average bike to the average Joe”. Sam knew that Dar was not going away and had it in his blood, (at least that’s what he told him). Sam accepted and the rest is history.

Like many others, Dar did whatever he could to earn a fair living, be a great father, husband, and provider. He had his ups & downs, and as life continued on his dreams got pushed aside.

Through the support of his loving wife Latrisha, the good fortune to know Sam Wills as a friend and business partner, and the pure desire to do what he truly loves (bikes, bikes, bikes) Dar is going for it.

“For those of you who don't know, Sam Wills is a Chassis builder and distinguished Top Fuel Bike builder, tuner and rider. He is a multiple US number one plate holder, World Record Holder and the first guy to run 200mph record holder. He also raced successfully in the UK, Europe and South Africa. Sam also developed the parachute system that I use. Sam is excited about having the bike based at his shop, and I'm both very grateful for his assistance, and honored that he considers my bike worth the time and effort.”

Yes, you read it right, Sam Wills is a former World Champion, Top Fuel Bikes… 3-time World Champion.

Sam built his own race bikes. His bikes were the fastest, strongest and straightest. Other’s clamored for him to build their bikes. Racing Innovations was born.

Sam Wills of Racing Innovations has been building chassis since 1979. He has built chassis for some of the biggest and well-known custom bike builders in the industry and has been featured on several well-known shows on the Discovery Channel.

In 2006, Sam (Racing Innovations) teamed up with Dar Holdsworth to start Darwin Motorcycles and bring track inspired quality bike building to the streets. This joint venture will offer the above average bike to the average Joe - bikes that are truly unique and quality second to non.

There are several important people behind the scenes making daily contributions in our effort to bring these cool bikes to life. We would like to recognize them first and foremost. Without good people, we are nothing.
